Listening/Print Party!

Great party! We wanted to do a listening for the release of the album, but it’s too awkward for everyone to just like sit around while the music is playing, so we added an activity. We outfitted 30 of the albums with watercolor paper glued to the front and brought supplies for anybody who wanted to paint their own designs onto the albums and then have the album art printed on top.

In my imagination the print would be solid black and people would just pick out some colors that you would be able to see in the cutouts of the print (where the cars are, where it says micro.wav). BUT the watercolor interacted with the screenprinting in a really beautiful way! Because the watercolor wasn’t totally dry, when you apply the screenprint, the black ink didn’t adhere to the wet parts. What you end up with is super vibrant colors and a combination of the two images. Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

Great way to inaugurate our debut album and give people an object they’ll be excited about.
